Law Firm Collections Specialist/Analyst
Hybrid work model of 3 days in the office in downtown Chicago (The Loop) and two days remote. Located within a few blocks of Union Station or the South Shore Line
8:30-5 or 9-5:30 with an hour lunch break
Salary up to $95,000 with a bonus at year-end.

You will be responsible for monitoring and collection of outstanding invoices and ensuring Partner promises and commitments are adhered to as related to the billing of their clients via direct contact and follow-up with each partner and client as assigned and pursuant to firm policy to ensure timely billing and collections. Researches, resolves and proposes solutions to partner queries to ensure timely billing of our clients. Confers with billing partners either by telephone or in person via regularly scheduled calls or meetings to determine reason(s) for aged A/R and accounts, strategize in an effort to obtain payment and ensure timely billing. Ensures the firm is in compliance with the terms of service, client’s outside counsel guidelines or any existing agreements in effect with respect to the client and / or matter. Gathers, follows up with partners, compiles and reports on statuses as assigned pursuant to the firm’s billing and collection policy. Provides any accrual information to partners or clients as assigned or requested. Maintains and consistently updates in detail (date, time, name and title of person spoken to and details of conversation/email) all interactions with a partner or client related to their A/R and accounts within the Firm’s Financial Application, currently I4G. Actively and consistently updates management of any potential collection or account issues as related to any partner or client requiring escalation and providing recommendations for resolution. Recommends and timely submits to the Global Director of Client Financial Services any proposed A/R or account write offs accompanied by the required supporting information and appropriate coding. Works with management to identify, propose and create solutions to recurring issues affecting the firm’s ability to properly invoice its clients and/or the client’s ability to timely pay our invoices, not limited to developing or revising any existing policies or procedures governing the firm’s accounts, billing, or credit and collections policies and procedures. Coordinates with the Billing and Cash Receipts departments as necessary, assists the Cash Receipts department with respect to unapplied payments and unapplied credits. Acts as the resource to partners and clients in an effort to resolve any issues hindering payment to the firm or the billing of accounts. Prepares, reviews and distributes, as appropriate, monthly reports for delinquent A/R and accounts to partners, clients and firm management using either Aderant Expert or the current Financial Application.
Please have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in collections.
A Minimum of five years of related collections experience
Law firm or professional services experience is highly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
Innovation Software’s I4G 360 and WebDesk applications, preferred
Ability to run SQL scripts, experience with Aderant Expert Reporting and Inquiry functions, preferred
