Litigation Paralegal

$180,000-$200,000 includes base plus 35-40 hours a week of overtime
Rare 35-hour work week! Hybrid work schedule
$80,000 – $90,000 base, with $100,000-$120,000 of paid overtime. There will be a significant amount of O/T. A typical workweek is between 75-80 hrs. On-call nights and weekends.

One of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms with offices worldwide seeks a hard-working general Litigation Paralegal to join their incredibly busy litigation practice group. This position will be in Washington, D.C. office (hybrid).
This position will utilize your experience and knowledge of case resources and methods to assist with complex tasks and substantive projects. You will handle tasks throughout all phases and aspects of litigation while guiding attorneys, other legal assistants, and professional staff.
You will
- handle complex projects with limited supervision.
- Assist with preparing and filing pleadings, court papers, etc.
- Assist with the retrieval of rules, regulations, and company profiles.
- Support all discovery phases, including document review, production, and depositions.
- Assist with preparation for interviews, depositions, hearings, trials, and client meetings.
- Proofread briefs, memoranda of law, opinions, and other documents.
- Cite-checks legal documents, Shepardize authorities, and verifies the accuracy of quoted material and cited exhibits.
- Perform non-legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, SEC/EDGAR, other media and financial services sites, and/or court-related websites for case law, statutes, articles, books, etc.
- Manage databases by Firm standards.
- Organize and manages electronic and paper files.
- Ensure all files are maintained within Firm-approved protocols and case management systems.
- Maintain the integrity of client files.
- Assist attorneys, legal assistants, and professional staff across offices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to quickly learn new software and operating systems.
- Working knowledge of federal and state court rules and procedures.
- Ability to proficiently navigate various electronic databases and document management systems.
- Working knowledge of Relativity and other e-discovery applications like TextMap and CaseMap.
- Fluency with court filings in both paper and electronic (e-filing formats).
- Ability to assist in preparing and during arbitrations/trials.
- Strong research skills and proficiency in using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, SEC/EDGAR, and other court-related websites.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
- Demonstrates effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well independently, as well as effectively, within a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.

Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree and a paralegal certificate is a plus
- 2-5 years of litigation experience in a paralegal position or a position requiring similar skillset, expertise, and experience.
