This exceptional and growing national residential and commercial Real Estate Developer and property management services organization seeks a senior real commercial real estate transactional Paralegal for their legal department with an extensive commercial loan and financing experience. You will assist the legal department with updating company files, preparing legal contracts, reviewing documents and managing business licensing and compliance issues.
You will prepare, review, edit and coordinate contracts, leases, legal correspondence, and other documents for attorneys. Organize and maintain documents and filings to ensure compliance. Manage the business licensing process between the company and state and local jurisdictions, including, without limitation: VA SCC – Researching entities, registering entities, filing annual reports, and obtaining Certificates. Preparing and filing EIN applications and preparing and file BPOL applications. Work directly with a title company to obtain title commitments and coordinate closings with the title company. Obtain zoning letters from local jurisdictions. Coordinate loan closings and related documents and communications with attorneys. Provide due diligence support for potential acquisitions and dispositions. Administer and maintain company bonding facilities. Prepare documentation for shareholder meetings. Prepare documentation and assist with SEC filings. Maintain files and track corporate reports and records. Manage critical dates and deadlines. Populate document archive and hard file and electronic system. Prepare litigation pleadings index and filings. Organize and maintain condominium and homeowner’s association documents. Organize and maintain lending and insurance binders
Required skills are real estate and/ or public company experience, 3+ years of experience in a paralegal role in a law firm, mortgage or bank legal department, title company, or real estate firm. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Strong data analysis and research skills
Preferred skills are Certification of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program and an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree.
