Field Systems Administrator

Location: Fort Belvoir, VA

Clearance Requirements: Secret Clearance with Eligibility

This is a stable and growing firm where people are their differentiators. As a Field Systems Administrator, you will support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management System (DSMS) mission at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements:

  • Develop technical solutions for managing networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for system hardware and software issues that are highly complex in scope.
  • Train end users on properly using hardware and software may train large groups of end users.
  • Perform advanced software installations and upgrade operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Apply advanced knowledge in monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance.
  • Implement standard software and hardware solutions to provide guidance to less experienced personnel on workstation/server data integrity.
  • Lead data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Conduct advanced to complex hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Ensure that the performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
  • Evaluate and assess existing systems and plan long-term strategies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Active Directory (AD) expertise.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems and system performance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train end users effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of software installations, upgrades, and system monitoring.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in a government or military IT environment.
  • Knowledge of security compliance requirements.
  • Experience with system architecture and configuration management.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience
  • Security Clearance Level: Secret
  • Location: On Customer Site
  • US Citizenship Required

Salary:

The salary range for this position is up to $105,622
