$140,000-$160,000 with bonus
9:00 am to 6:00 pm M-F with occasional overtime, but the firm believes in a work/life balance
This incredible East Coast law firm seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager – Office Administrator who will report to the wonderful Executive Director to support its two offices, work out of the Washington, DC office, and occasionally travel to the other East Coast office.
- Manage the operations of the DC Office and the human resources functions of the two offices located on the East Coast
- Supervise an office of 30 staff
- Meet weekly with the Executive Committee liaison and the Executive Director
- Coordinate building service needs with property management; handle technology essentials in conjunction with the IT and Operations Manager
- Responsible for DC office assignments and coordinating set-up
- Orchestrate events, virtual and in-person, in collaboration with members of both offices
- Process payroll biweekly in tandem with the Executive Director and accounting department
- Monitor personnel attendance and leave requests and update the HRIS as needed
- Manage staff recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, and offboarding of personnel
- Conduct monthly meetings with legal assistants regarding workflow, coordinate performance management and support staff reviews; supervise temporary staff; propose policy and procedure recommendations
- Maintain compliance with federal and state jurisdictions regarding matters such as FMLA, OSHA, PFL, etc.
- Provide benefits administration and coordinate with the insurance broker; evaluate and negotiate rates and offerings
- Administer new hire open enrollment, life event enrollments, as well as the annual open enrollment
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience working in a professional services firm; Experience with a law firm is highly desired.
- 3+ years of HR and Office Management
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Thorough understanding of HR and HR/Office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Visio, Teams, and Windows 10/11.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior law firm experience is a plus.
- Experience with legal applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Intapp, SurePoint, TimeStar, Workshare Compare, and Best Authority is a plus.
