Legal Billing Manager
Currently working remotely until November and then return to in-office work in Chicago, IL.
Salary up to $135,000 with a bonus at year-end.

As the US Billing Manager, you will co-lead the firm’s US Billing function which is responsible for executing the monthly invoicing cycle for the firm’s U.S. partners. In collaboration with a peer manager and in support of the departmental head.
Key responsibilities of this role are developing strategies, managing assigned personnel up to 10 in office and five 3rd party clerks, ensuring sustained operational excellence, providing exemplary customer service to firm partners and innovating. The role is one of strategy, leadership, talent management, and driving process superiority.
You will provide sustained operational excellence in execution of the U.S. billing cycle. Leads, develops and mentors assigned staff. Serves as a dynamic and inspiring leader throughout the firm. Fosters an empowering, collaborative work culture. Ensures elite customer service to firm partners and clients. Identifies partner support needs; creatively drives solutions. Forges strong working relationships with partners and administrative colleagues. Applies insights provided by data and departmental metrics. Conceives new ideas, innovates, leverages technology
You will continually develop expertise on assigned personnel’s tasks and responsibilities, the legal billing cycle, the Firm’s billing practices and key billing dynamics, the Firm’s billing and eBilling software, and data and the department’s performance metrics
Please have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or the equivalent experience.
Please have a minimum five years in a law firm or legal services environment
Please have a minimum three years in a leadership capacity as a supervisor or manager
Expert knowledge of legal billing required
Strong knowledge of billing software required, legal billing software Aderant experience a plus
Advanced Microsoft Suite expertise and a strong, dynamic leadership presence with the ability to manage a group with diverse personalities and skill sets
