Location: Fully Remote, but you must live in the EDT Zone.

This non-exempt position pays $40,000 to $44,000, with occasional paid overtime.

The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 5:30 pm.

The firm seeks a remote clerical assistant to join the audit letters team. The assistant will work under the supervision of the Audit Letter Coordinator and the Audit Letter Committee and ensure timely responses to audit letter requests and inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Process audit letter requests from clients and accounting firms by entering data into the audit letter system.
    Surveys attorneys, track responses, and send follow-ups.
  • Compile responses assessing pending and threatened litigation and claims, settlements, billing data, and other pertinent information that may affect the client’s financial statements and standing.
  • Obtain approval through correspondence with the audit letter committee, apply suggested edits, and finalize the response to be issued to client and auditors.
  • Save information to the firm’s document management system, prepare billing for the audit response, and record information using Excel.
  • Combine packets with all pertinent correspondence for filing and storage.
  • Prepare audit letter responses for committee and attorney review and correspond with offices for issuance.
  • Understand accounting systems,
  • Maintain a comprehensive tracking system for follow-up to meet all relevant deadlines.
  • Utilize the firm’s document management system for retaining exhibits.
  • Assist with administrative tasks within the business intake process during the low audit letter season.

Qualifications

1-2 years of office, clerical, accounting, administrative experience and a High School Diploma. Any technical, vocational, or college experience is a plus but not required.

Understanding technology like MS Word, Excel, etc., is highly desired.
