Remote Patent Prosecution Legal Assistant – Secretary
Work fully remotely as long as you are in CA, CO, AZ, or TX. Flextime starts at 8:30, 9, or 9:30 and ends at 5, 5:30, or 6 pm; hours may be adjusted for time zone.
$80,000-$110,000, depending on location, legal experience, and education.

Solid knowledge of state e-filing procedures and federal e-filing procedures is required.

The firm seeks a legal assistant/secretary to join their Patent (IP) practice group. You will support 5 attorneys who work in the firm’s San Francisco office and other offices within the US.
Please have 3+ years of experience as a patent secretary, patent legal assistant, or patent paralegal working in IP law in a law firm.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare U.S. patent applications, amendments, and other legal documents for e-filing and reporting.
- Prepare reporting letters to the client for review by the timekeepers.
- Prepare expense reports for timekeepers.
- Work with Firm Travel to coordinate timekeeper travel arrangements.
- Correspond directly with clients as requested.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- HS Diploma required; A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of patent application filing and prosecution experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in document management software, preferably iManage.
- Available for paid overtime.
