Subject Matter Expert – Supply Chain (Key)

This is a stable and growing firm where people are their differentiators. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Supply Chain, you will provide technical support, analysis, and research into exceptionally complex problems and processes related to DoD logistics and supply chain operations.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements:
- Provide expert-level support in wholesale supply chain logistics.
- Conduct research and analysis to solve exceptionally complex problems.
- Serve as an expert on project teams, providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives.
- Demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Assist in the drafting of DLMS changes, including drafting X12 requirements.
- Coordinate peer reviews of DLMS changes and related products, including reviews by X12 and Technical Writers.
- Support the management of Process Review Committees (PRC), Configuration Management Boards (CMB), and other related working groups.
- Guide the successful completion of significant projects and function in a project leadership role.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
- Work with minimal direction and considerable latitude in determining technical objectives.
- Provide expertise in specific functional areas, such as discrepancy reporting, finance, supply, contract administration, transportation, maintenance, or operations.
- Support training requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in DoD/Component policies, business procedures, business rules, data standards, and transactions (DLMS/legacy formats) supporting the supply/logistics domain.
- Experience with DoD distribution depot operations, procedures, and supporting automated information systems.
- Understanding of DoD materiel and inventory management operations, procedures, and supporting automated information systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think independently and exercise initiative in determining technical objectives.
- Proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working in a DoD-specific logistics function.
- Prior experience in DoD logistics policies and operations.
- Strong familiarity with supply chain automation systems.
- Ability to coordinate and lead teams in reviewing technical documentation and policies.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree with 8+ years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in a DoD-specific logistics function (e.g., discrepancy reporting, finance, supply chain, contract administration).
- Fewer years of experience may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Salary: The salary range for this position is up to $103,250.
