Senior IP Litigation Paralegal

Hybrid work model of 3/2

Salary: $95,000-$140,000 plus benefits. This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime.

One of the most prestigious and stable international law firms seeks a senior IP Litigation Paralegal for the Washington, DC office’s IP Practice Support Services Department. You will provide high-level Intellectual Property litigation paralegal support under the direct supervision of attorneys on various client and firm matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Filing and retrieving documents at courthouses and government agencies, including USPTO PTAB, Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. District Courts.
  • Assisting with drafting, reviewing, cite-checking, and preparing PTAB, Federal Circuit, and District Court filings.
  • Assisting with the electronic discovery process, including the collection, preservation, and review of materials for eventual production
  • Tracking incoming and outgoing productions and assisting with preparing privilege logs.
  • Establishing and maintaining case files, document collections, and chronologies.
  • Drafting correspondence.
  • Compiling materials for witness interviews and depositions.
  • Assisting with trial preparation and set up; Organizing trial exhibits and notebooks and developing charts and graphs; Maintaining exhibits, taking notes at trials, and assisting with trial presentations.
  • Developing information retrieval systems with an emphasis on the use of computerized litigation support.
  • Checking citations, Bluebooking, and proofreading legal documents.
  • Conducting computer searches, research, and case management functions on client databases or firm resources such as Opus 2, Relativity, Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, HighQ/Engage, and the Internet.
  • Collaborating with the eData department on computer issues regarding electronic discovery and other matters.
  • Pulling cases and obtaining resources from local libraries.
  • Assisting with coordinating and supervising teams of contract attorneys on document review projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A 4-year college degree with an excellent academic record is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IP litigation paralegal experience.
  • Prior experience with USPTO PTAB, U.S. District Court, and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals matters.
  • Familiarity with Relativity, Opus 2; Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, HighQ/Engage, and other case management and e-Discovery tools.
  • A paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary, including nights, weekends, and travel.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $95,000 to $140,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
