This incredible, stable and growing IT services government contractor filled with happy people seeks a Systems Developer to work at Offlutt Air Force Base as part of a dynamic team on a project.
As the Systems Developer you will support Remedy systems, virtual systems, SharePoint and Jira workflow integration, and software testing within 557 WW and throughout the Air Force Weather function. Duties include administering the 557 WW Remedy application, servers and database; Translate user requirements into necessary design modifications; Design new systems and develop enhancements to existing systems; Create databases and online reports to support project measurement and data analytics; Maintain existing systems and environments IAW disciplined engineering practices and sustain applications, databases, and interfaces in compliance with applicable AF DoD standards; Database management, virtual system management, SharePoint and Jira workflow integration; Provide application services to support, maintain, and operate systems or services; Create, maintain, monitor data stores ensuring availability, accuracy, precision, responsiveness; Provide services such as data cleansing, redundancy resolution, and business rule validation; Create and test backups of data, provide data cleansing services, verify data integrity, implement access controls; Assist developers of data exposure services with engagement of the database; Administer 66 SQL Server databases totaling 307 GB. These server databases reside on a subset of the production, development, and test systems; Support system sustainment activities to include maintaining existing legacy systems and environments and to sustain applications, databases, and interfaces; Support for planning, requirements definitions, systems integration, technical analysis, technical interchange meetings, project control services, and acquisition of hardware, software support; Create user documentation for additions and modifications of supported software and hardware; Provide system administration functions for the Remedy servers, the associated Windows 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 R2, and 2016 servers, management Windows 10 workstations, VMware host and management servers, and Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 and 2012 Server databases; Ensure system availability, including after-hours support as needed, file, and database backups; Standardize all procedures as they pertained to the databases; Manage the day to day operations surrounding database performance tuning; Monitor the efficiency of current systems and suggest improvements.
You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, Engineering, or another technical field or related major OR 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience is considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree; Basic level programming skills; Able to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ certification, (firm will pay for training and certification within 30 days of starting the position. You must be comfortable using and patching Microsoft systems and software; Working knowledge with the standard Microsoft Office suite; Previous experience working with DoD customers and an Active Secret Security Clearance
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS are Remedy development and administration experience; Knowledge of Linux, UNIX commands and Microsoft Active Directory; Current CompTIA Security+ certification OR can get within 30 days, company will pay if they leave with a year pay back; Knowledge of one or more of the following hardware, software items would be helpful:
